Will you see Sue with a paintbrush or binoculars in hand? Or maybe both?

Sue began painting in a beginner class more than thirty years ago. After a painting seminar of birds, that became the focus of much of her art. It was also the beginning of her travel to bird hotspots and wildlife areas to observe animals in their habitat in order to create authentic wildlife paintings.

As a former elementary school librarian and classroom teacher, Sue shared her love of books with children, encouraging them to hear beautiful language and to study many styles of illustration. This career spanned forty years when she retired in 2011.

Through her art business, Brush With Birds, she currently sells bird, wildlife and nature paintings painted realistically in oils, watercolors and on kiln-fired porcelain. In addition to 2-dimensional paintings, Sue paints animals, plants, pets and other designs on small boxes, holiday ornaments and free form shapes of porcelain.
